My little obsession...

Ok, I'll admit it... I have a bit of an obsession with scarves (and blankets, but that's another story). I absolutely LOVE them! I look at them just about every time I'm out shopping! There are so many to choose from... colors, patterns, styles, casual, dressy, sporty... JUST SO MANY DIFFERENT SCARVES!!
The other day while I was walking around Wal-Mart, picking up a few odds and ends we needed, I found myself wandering over to the crafting/sewing section. I have never picked up knitting needles or crochet hooks in my life. As I found myself looking at them, I became very interested in making my own scarf! I grabbed some yarn and crochet hooks and headed out. I never saw myself crocheting.. ever. I don't think anyone ever did. My mother's response when she found out I was making a scarf was, "Who are you?!" and "You are something. Where did you learn to do that?!"
That night I watched a video on YouTube on how to crochet. After a few hours the next day, and about two more hours the day after, I finished my very first scarf! I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty proud of myself! I didn't expect my first one to actually look like a scarf!

Our year

I can't believe it has been over a year since my last post. I'm pretty sure the only one who has noticed is Miss Emily ;)
Life in Indiana is still going well! Everett has started a new job working for a man who owns his own heating and air/home repair company. He absolutely loves it and comes home everyday with many stories from work! Since working with this guy, he has also been able to fix many things around the house that he wouldn't have been able to before ;) Always a plus!
Basketball season in underway for me! We are currently 4-1! I am loving everything about this season! It has been an absolute blast to work with these girls everyday! We're in the works of getting a Christmas party together.. an all nighter at my house. Oh boy, what was I thinking?!

My family (Dad, Mom and Brennan) will be here in just ELEVEN days for Christmas! What in the world?! 11 days?! I better get on top of things!! I can't believe it's already that time of year again! This year has flown by so incredibly fast. All I did was blink my eyes!
Some highlights from this past year are:

January: We started out the year at the Bostater's like we do each year. I think it is easily one of my favorite traditions! We have such a blast celebrating the New Year with such great friends!

I guess nothing exciting happened in February. It was filled with a lot of basketball!

March: Joe, Bethany and Lincoln were passing through with Joe's quartet and we were able to spend some time with them in Indy. We had a great time with them and spent a day at the Children's Museum! I think we were all completely exhausted after that!

April: I was able to help out at the high school for their spring drama! We did the Crossroads at Columbine. Such a great message in that play and the kids all performed SO well!
(One of the cast members and me)
Also in April my best friend and her man were able to take a quick trip down to see us! We took them around to all the "must sees" in Muncie. (Which aren't too many)

May: Everett and I were able to take a long weekend vacation to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, TN area. What an absolute blast that was! We were able to find an affordable cabin in the mountains to rent. It was such a nice cabin and a great get-a-way. I think my favorite was Ripley's Aquarium. I was like a kid in a candy shop there running around from each exhibit trying to take it all in! It was absolutely amazing to see God's amazing creation even in the sea!
Also in May we were able to meet up with Emily Fitzsimmons, Laura Bunjer, Liz and Autumn Rance and Dave Griffith at the Creation Museum in KY. That was an amazing experience and with such a fun group of people! I highly suggest visiting the Creation Museum at least once in your life. (Maybe twice because it's so much to take in) Also, the Planetarium is a MUST SEE!!! You won't regret it! I promise!

June: Roofing season began.. and it was HOT. Everett and I both roofed for his dad. Yikes! I ended up with some of the worst sunburn everrrr!! I don't think I could ever forget about that!
We spent the 4th of July at our house with some friends but had to head over to a pool because it was too hot out! We didn't even want to get out for fireworks because it was so hot!
Also, Everett and I celebrated our one year Anniversary! We spent the day in Indy and then had an amazing dinner at Fogo de Chao!! One of the best food experiences I've ever had!

Also in June we were able to go on a camping trip with our friends Alex and Allison Whisler. Let me tell you, never a dull moment when the 4 of us are together! We came away from that camping trip with some great stories and amazing memories! We decided this is definitely going to have to become tradition!

Also in June my second nephew Beckham Scott Everson was born! Beckham and Lincoln are the most handsome little fella's I've ever met :) Proud auntie right here :)

July: We headed off on a 22 hour drive to Maine with Everett's parents for a two week vacation! I had never been out on the East coast. WOW! I absolutely fell in love! We visited Everett's Grandma Goodell and his aunt and uncle while we were out there. On the way, we were able to pull off on an exit so I could visit with Joy McNally for a while! Maine was an awesome trip. I can't even tell you how many lobster dinners we were able to have!! Hoping to do it several more times in the future!
My parents were able to come in July for a few days with two friends (Caleb Ehlinger and Breanna Fronek) My dad helped out with our basketball camp.
July 23, 2012 we started our summer basketball camp when God called one of our teammates home to be with Him. It was an extremely difficult week for all of us. Looking back now, it's amazing to see how God was glorified through the whole thing and through Savannah's life as well!

I was also able to head to Jr. Camp with the youth group and spend a week being "camp mom" It was SO much fun! I love the whole camp experience! Hanging out with the youth group you are always sure to have a good time! So thankful I was able to be a part of that!

August: We spent this month working and recouping from Summer! I don't think anything too exciting happened. We went on a few picnic dates! Those are always so much fun! I started babysitting for an 8 month old boy. He's been so much fun to have around! I think it was in August that Everett started his new job as well. Everett was able to join in on some shooting competitions around here. He has had so much fun with it and looking forward to starting it up again this Spring. I always enjoyed going and watching and being the camera girl for him! He's quite good :)

September: In September, I was able to head to Indy for the True Woman '12 conference with several ladies from here. It was such an encouraging conference! I can't wait to go back next time!

October: The first weekend in Oct. we went to an outdoor fest in Ohio and spent the weekend there. We had an absolute blast! They had everything outdoors related that you could try out such as: biking, kayaking, geocaching, slack lining and so much more! We are already looking forward to heading back next October and bringing friends! We headed North for 2 weeks for my beset friends wedding! It was SO nice to be able to be there with family and friends for that long! Definitely a much needed two weeks home!
Once we got home we headed straight to the high school soccer and volleyball state tournament! We were able to see the girls take 1st in volleyball and the guys take 2nd in soccer!

November: The month basketball started up again! This year I actually have two assistants as opposed to none like last year! I love it! This year has been so much fun already! We spent Thanksgiving in Lafayette at Clayton and Deanne's. We hit up the Black Friday shopping places! It was really my first time doing that. We got some great deals on things! It's amazing how many people go out for that! The stores were complete chaos!

Then we get to December: So far we've just been busy with basketball and Everett is redoing the master bathroom. That keeps him so busy... but it sure is starting to look nice :)
Right now we are getting ready for our Living Christmas Tree program this weekend. Practices have been long.. I'm ready for it to be done ;)

I think that recaps our year pretty well. Can't believe its almost over and on to 2013!

Just to catch up...

Nothing too exciting or new going on here. We have been staying busy with work, friends, diy projects, church things and so on and so forth! We just signed up to help on Wednesday nights with the Truth Trackers program! I'm excited to be able to help out in that ministry along side my husband! I was recently asked to be the head coach of the girls varsity basketball team at the christian school here. That one is still in the works but I am kind of getting excited about it! At first I didn't know if I would want to do it but now... I might have a slight change of mind!
This week is also draft week for fantasy football!! I am not gonna lie.. I'm pretty excited about that! I am the only girl in the league, but that doesn't frighten me one bit :) I already took first in the boat race to give me 1st pick in the draft! How cool is that?! haha!!
Tonight I'm heading out with some girls to catch our tv show together :) I am looking forward to that!!
Those are pretty much the only exciting things going on here... It's been awhile since I have blogged so I thought I would just get you up to speed. This week is a busy one for us, but I am quite excited for what this week holds!

DIY project=complete!

ok so here they are from the start again....

I spray painted the rings black

I bought some fabrics to match our bedroom

Finally, I put the fabric in the rings and they're finished.
Eventually they will be hung up on the brick wall above our bed :)
They were very fun to make and I think they turned out great!

Everett and I have really gotten into this re-doing things. We've been looking up ideas of re-doing furniture and such. We found an old record shelf that we decided would make a good tv stand.

Yes, it's bright! But it looks cool in our living room :)
We have also purchased a set of three small end tables that we will soon be re-doing. We have some ideas in mind and are excited to try them out!

DIY project!

I've been looking at some DIY projects and I decided on some wall decor that I'm going to make for our bedroom. I hit the jackpot at Goodwill with some things I needed :)
Maybe some day I'll be as artsy fartsy as my mom ;) This is just a start!!

Aren't they beautiful?!
I'm not sure how long it will take me to actually finish the project... but I'll be sure to post pictures during the process :)
Looking at DIY projects is pretty fun! Stephanie and I are coming up with all sorts of things we need to make!! We'll see what gets accomplished!
